Whether lawmakers love budget reconciliation or hate it depends on whether they’re in the majority. Democrats who are defending its use now protested it when they were in the minority.
This is always the case in politics. It’s always “Do as I say, not as I do.” Political machinations are OK when I do them, but unfair when you do them.
