Multiple National Institutes of Health letters obtained by The Washington Post say grants are being terminated because they “no longer effectuate agency priorities.”

One of an example of the language being used. This is made possible by an obscure regulation change but ignores other language. This is being used to immediately terminate grants and contracts for political punishment. It is going to turn the country into a scientific backwater.

Grants are getting killed “without any scientific input anywhere. It is purely political,” said a member of a senior leadership team at a large NIH institute. “The science in this country is going to be destroyed if you can change what the priorities are going to be every four years. You can’t do science that way.”
